The variety of the natural history field and lecture programmes is striking. Though based around the plant and animal life of Somerset, they extend worldwide and have included recently Iceland, Ecuador, Turkey and the Indian Ocean. They range from rocks to reserves, from fungi to forestry and from birds to butterflies. Informative consideration is given to the reconstruction of past landscapes, the recording of present plants and animals and the future of our wildlife.
